Mahoney’s on Rotary Friendship Exchange

MahoneysFrom Long Island, we learn that Wally and Bernadette Mahoney just got back from southern Sweden (Skane, pronounced Skohn-uh District 2390) and a two-week Rotary Friendship Exchange.

Bernadette and I took an extra week, and spent it in Berlin with our son Pete. There were six couples from two local clubs, and we each spent four days with three Swedish families. We visited castles, churches, sights and had lunch as a group (even played golf and went to the beach). They will come and visit us next summer same deal, each couple rotating through three households here. The Rotarians in Skane have been doing this for about three years with New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, Texas, and Portland, OR. If anybody wants to try it, let me know, and I’ll give you more info and a contact in District 2390.
