Cummings Classification Talk

CummingsCurt Cummings, a BBRC newcomer, called on his Microsoft training to present a Power Point to emphasize his Classification Talk. The club doesn’t own a PowerPoint projector, so Curt used his laptop as a cue card  sort of a mini tele-prompter. It was just about as good as Jim Owens’ “Click it or Ticket” a decade ago!

Curt grew up in Las Vegas, after which his family moved to Priest Lake, ID. Either the lack of or the surplus of hair has been Curt’s badge of courage over the years. : I had lots of hair in the 80’s ... a Mullet, in fact, with hair down to my waist.” (Now, Bob Moloney, don’t go asking what a Mullet is!)

Curt enrolled at Eastern Washington and made the decision that the hair had to go. He got a haircut and has managed his pate ever since!

Curt has worked at Microsoft for ten years in the Internal IT Department as a Network Systems Engineer. Just recently, he’s switched to Solutions for Customers of IT. He now produces models for companies yearning to adopt new technologies. Part of his work is instructing customers how to upgrade and how often, how to install patches, and other important services.

Curt has been married to Carla for 16 years, and they have a 12-year-old son (Conner) and 8-year-old daughter (Ciara). “I spend all of my free time with them. We travel a lot. I’m into athletics, particularly Karate. Microsoft has 300 enrolled in a football program. I love being out in the wilderness with big jeeps and motorcycles. Rotary has been a part of my life for some time. My father is active in Rotary, and I’ve helped an African village get a new water system. This year, I’ve got a dozen laptops going to Africa and I’m a new member of the World Community Service Committee, hoping to assist in more projects.”

One of Curt’s first acts when joining the BBRC was to become a Paul Harris Society member. He definitely comes equipped with a heavy dose of Rotarianism. He’s someone to watch! Welcome, Curt Cummings to the BBRC!
