Friday Potpourri

A warm greeting from President Norm got the meeting off and rolling. Jan Nestler gave the invocation and pledge. Jan’s invocation came from the University Presbyterian Church services of December 28, 2003.

“Father in Heaven! You have loved us first; Help us to never forget that you are love so that this sure conviction might triumph in our hearts over the seduction of the world, over the ineptitude of the soul, over the anxiety for the future, over the fright of the past, over the distress of the moment. But grant, also, that this conviction might discipline our soul so that our heart might remain faithful and sincere in the love which we bear to all those whom you have commanded us to love as we love ourselves. Amen”

Curt Cummings greeted six visiting Rotarians: Conrad Lee, Bellevue; Keith Jackson and Steve Beeghly, Seattle 4; John Pruitt and Val Gurin, Kirkland; and Jennifer Pratt, Issaquah. There were also several guests of Rotarians.

Sergeant At Arms Jenny Andrews saluted Rotarians with birthdays in August and September and those members celebrating Rotary anniversaries.

Having published the August Birthdays and Anniversaries in the August 2 issue of Reveille, we now will recognize the September Rotarians celebrating important dates.
