ADMIN CORNER

Thanks for your cooperation responding to the club’s AR. This is the final Friday of the quarter, so please use the cashier to bring your accounts up to date, or mail your remittance to BBRC, PO Box 3003, Bellevue WA 98009-3003.

The rush of Irish sayings and prayers was overwhelming this year. Thanks to Ernie Hayden for his invocation last Friday. Here’s one he didn’t have room for:

An Irish Prayer

Bless those who love us

Those that don't, may the good Lord turn their hearts. And, if He can't turn their heart, may He turn their ankle so we'll know them by their limping.

Retreat Questionnaire
By Steve Lingenbrink

At this time we have 38 folks signed up for the retreat.  I encourage as many additional members as possible drive up (carpool) the morning of the 9th to attend the planning sessions from 8:00 - 12:00.  There are many pivotal issues we will be discussing to implement policy for the 2005 -2006 Board and we covet your input.  If you absolutely can't make it (like you are in Slovakia or something) I would like you to take a few minutes to reflect upon and reply privately to me on the following questions.  Furthermore, I would encourage you to continue a dialogue on these topics with your fellow Rotarian.

"What can we do to make the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club
an even better club?"

1.  Does our current meeting place, and the facilities/resources they offer, adequately meet the needs of the club?  Does our current meeting place project the image that we need to attract and maintain a membership of the highest caliber?

2.  Is the meeting format we currently use still correct for our club?  What can we do to make the meetings more “engaging” to the members (are the programs OK?)

3.  While the raffle is indisputably a success financially, is it still the best way to fundraise for our Foundation?  What does the future of fundraising look like at the BBRC?

4.  What words would you include if you were writing the mission statement and the purpose of the BBRC?  Similarly what do you see as the purpose of the Major Project / Major Grant of the BBRC?  What do you see as the direction of the projects in the future?

5.  Where should the 20 Year Anniversary Party be this fall?   How much should the club subsidize?  What should the maximum cost be per couple?

6.  Do we have the right amount of “hands on” service projects?  Do we have the right amount of social activities?

7.  Should more emphasis be placed upon attendance at the meetings?  Should we eliminate the Scooter Policy (the question is: since there are so many opportunities for make ups these days, if you can't stay for the program then why attend)?  Or should we raise the price of the Scooter Badge; and if so, to what level?

8.  Other thoughts?

Thank you for your consideration and comments.  I look forward to serving you beginning July 1, 2005. Fill out this survey and email to Steve Lingenbrink.
