The rush of Irish sayings and prayers was overwhelming this year. Thanks to Ernie Hayden for his invocation last Friday. Here’s one he didn’t have room for:

An Irish Prayer

Bless those who love us

Those that don't, may the good Lord turn their hearts. And, if He can't turn their heart, may He turn their ankle so we'll know them by their limping.

Brown Reclassifies

x0321BrownAs one of 25 Charter members, Dick Brown joined Rotary with a classification of "women’s wear retail." “Don Chandler and I entered Rotary in the same business but his classification was "men’s wear." Little did I think I’d ever change classifications. I operated Albert Ltd. for 35 years, and this June is the second anniversary of closing. We quit dressing up, so it was time to close.”

Dick said he missed the people who were his friends and customers. I was passionate about my business, so I knew I must go and look for another passion. I interviewed in many areas. Then, Joseph Brazen, a former member of the BBRC, told me I’d be a 'natural" in the residential real estate business. I’d had a few meetings with Joseph when I talked with Don Deasy, returning from a vacation in Maui. I told him I was considering real estate; Don said, 'We’ve got to talk.’ Don confirmed that I’d be a "natural" and set up appointments for me at Windermere Real Estate. I liked the fit and am very, very grateful for the opportunity.

"I went back to school to learn my new profession. Went to the Bellevue Library for free computer classes. Bought all this computer stuff and I work ‘em all! I passed the real estate course and began working on May 1, 2004. It’s very refreshing to change directions when your path is paved by people who care about you. Now, I’m out to meet new people. It’s a seller’s market in real estate. Competition is stiff among real estate firms.”

Contact Dick for full attention. He depends on referrals. His new classification is “Real Estate-Residential.”
