Judge Jenny, the Sergeant at Arms Norm Johnson didnt get far away from the lectern as Jenny called him forward to explain his winning $1,000 when his name was called by Bill Yeend, on the KOMO Radio morning show. He had 30minutes to call. Bob Holert heard his named called, and phoned Norms home. He was underwater at the Mercer Island pool and his wife Carolyn asks the folks at the pool to get him to a phone. As Norm tells it, The lifeguard pulled me out and I made the call. With all that work, Norm agreed to share half ($500) of his winnings with the Rotary Foundation. Peter Powell came forward with a long look on his face. He told Jenny hed been rejected, and was dejected, because hed lost Sayoko (formerly Powell) as a soul mate. He told Jenny he wants to change his name to Kuwahara, but he couldnt pronounce it correctly. Sayoko responded by suggesting Peter just acquire the name shes cast asunder and be henceforth known as Peter Powell-Powell! That seemed to take care of the matter. No money changed hands. |
