Friday Potpourri
Past President Dick Clarke presided in the absence of President Evison. He produced a little blue bag that he found in the Presidents Briefcase. It is used for storing important stuff like the gavel, etc. Dick knew all about the blue bag, because Donna fashioned this for me when I was president back in1987-1988. Its still working! Bill Brooks delivered the invocation and led the pledge to the flag. Jane Kuechle greeted but one Rotarian, named Bill, from the Hawks Prairie Rotary down Olympia way, who was selling GET (Guaranteed Education Ticket) raffle tickets! Phil Salvatoris birthday fell on the 23rd, so he got a special serenade. John Sheeran, welcomed back after heart surgery in early December, picked up where he left off giving the Cub a report about Vocational Services Career Days. Recently, Tom Smith and Terry Peterson participated in Career Days at Sammamish High School. Bellevue Christian is sponsoring a Career Day on February 27 and a cast of experienced business and professional people are needed to fill spots in that event. Contact John if you can spare a few hours that day. He also thanked the Club for the many calls and contacts during his recovery. In an effort to get more participation from Club members at the annual Golf Outing, Dick Brown put out a call for members who may not want to golf, but who can join the work crew to help stage this successful event. Dick will be chairing the Golf Outing this year and he wants to see everyone in the Club take part. Just know this Golf Outing will be all about hugs and tattoos! BBRC members welcomed Paul Juul with a hefty round of applause. Paul has been placed on exempt status due to ill health. A recent round of chemotherapy was successful and he looked hale and hearty!
