New Members Proposed: Erickson & Walker

The BBRC Board of Directors acted favorably on two applications for membership. This is the first of two publications of the applicant’s information.

Richard H. “Chip” Erickson, proposed classification “Radio Advertising,” is sponsored by John Mix, co-sponsored by Don Chandler. Chip is a former member of the University District Rotary Club from February 1988 to June of 1992. Chip is employed by KWJZ/Sandusky Radio Seattl,e with offices in Bellevue. His wife is Charlotte, and they have two children, Shelby and Lauren. Chip and family live in Shoreline.

His community involvement has centered around the YMCA Indian Princess program. He holds a Certified Radio Marketing Consultant designation, is a member of Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), and a member of the Puget Sound Radio Broadcaster’s Association.

In Chip, the BBRC acquires another talented keyboard artist. Chip plays in “The Fourth Degree,” a local jazz group. He also sings, plays the mandolin, guitar, ukulele and flute. In addition to his love of music, Chip enjoys reading and beer-making (favorite pastime of John Martinka). His recreational activities include mountain biking, strength training, triathlon competition, hiking and golf.

Kristin K. Walker, proposed classification “Fundraising-Healthcare,” is sponsored by Jenny Andrews. Kristin is Director of Major and Planned Gifts for the American Diabetes Association, Seattle Chapter. She lives in Bellevue with her husband George W. Walker, and they have three children.

Kristin is a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, the American Diabetes Association, Seattle Chapter. She’s a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She previously worked for the Kansas City Historical Foundation. Her musical talents include singing, and her hobbies are sewing, reading, and collecting antiques. Kristin’s other interests include hiking, biking, and golf.
