Dale Hemphill Honored in Friday Ceremony

Hellen Hemphill, outstanding Rotarian and wife of our beloved Dale Hemphill, who passed away in early September, accepted a beautiful plaque which conveys the love the BBRC held for our dear, departed brother. Dick Brown expressed the Club’s high esteem for Dale, as Rotary became part of his extended family. A memorial to the Rotary Foundation from Club members has risen to $2,600. Friday, Hellen accepted the plaque, inscribed with the words “Forever in our Hearts.”

Steve Waltar

Family of Rotary chair Steve Waltar took the occasion to explain how the cares and concerns of Club members are now emphasized in the new Family of Rotary Committee. Steve stressed the need to let the Committee know if someone is in distress so the committee can respond. Dick Brown, Carlene Buty, Jan Nestler, Sayoko Powell and Peter Stadelman are the other members of the Committee. Waltar invited additional club members to join in Committee’s work.
