Friday Potpourri

President Evison returned safely from his experience as Interim President of the Rotary Club of University District. He and Nancy Dalton traded places last Friday and, apparently, both parties will never do that again!

Kulkarni, Evison
Yeshwant Kulkarni (L) and President Brian Evision exchange club banners.

Jim Owens gave the invocation and led the pledge to the flag. Bill Brooks greeted five visiting Rotarians including: Mike Finkenbinder, University; Peter Hammett and Frank Young, Bellevue; Michael Campbell, Seattle #4; and Yeshwant Kulkarni, a visiting Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Sangli Mid-Town, India. He and President Evison exchanged club banners. Yeshwant let the BBRC know he was on the path to becoming president of his club next year. His classification is Manufacturing of Testing Machines.

Lots of things on the activity docket:

Dick Brown proposed to pull together a CPR/First Aid class if the interest is there. He said the course would be taught by Marcene McGowen, who spoke a week ago on the subject. Cost would be $40-$45 person and would be held on a Saturday. A smattering of members indicated an interest. Call Dick if you’d like to know more.

This coming Friday is Halloween! That means a Halloween Costume Contest! Everybody’s urged to come dressed for the occasion. It will be a fun time.

Friday, November 14, is the BBRC’s 18th Anniversary. Founded back in November of 1985, the Club now commemorates the event with an evening of fun and frolic. Wendi Fischer is managing the affair and announced that it will be held at the Harborside Restaurant on South Lake Union. There is a maximum of 140 persons, so you should respond quickly when your invitation arrives.
