President Brian gave the welcome as the morning meeting got underway. He introduced Nick Paget, who delivered the invocation and led the pledge to the flag, and Carol Hoeft, who introduced a couple of visiting Rotarians.

Vicky Hunsicker Sanko explained the Club’s project of collecting older cell phones that are no longer needed at members’ businesses or households. This is a program instigated by Verizon that takes the phones, refurbishes them and donates them back to people who need the protection of communication. Particularly, the phones will go to the Eastside Domestic Violence group. Linda Olsen, Executive Director, explained how this will help women and mothers who may be targets for violence. Vicky said the collection box will be available each week for several weeks to gather up the used phones. |
