McCaulley, Gordon
Greeters Wayne McCaulley (L) & Jim Gordon

Friday Potpourri

President Brian was otherwise occupied on another continent, leaving the hard work of running a meeting to Past President Sharon Edberg. Sharon got along just fine, thank you! She introduced Wayne McCaulley, who intoned the world’s shortest prayer: “In the immortal words of Tiny Tim – God Bless us, Everyone.” Wayne followed with the flag salute.

Jim Gordon, greeted five visiting Rotarians. He reported that his wife had been out of town on some sort of training mission and had missed their anniversary. Jim asked the visitors for suggestions on “How should I celebrate my anniversary?”

Paminto, Gordon, Edberg
Endang Paminto (L) exchanges banners wtih Sharon Edberg, while Jim Gordon looks on.

Visitors included Past District Governor Rosemary Aragon; State Legislator Rodney Tom; Phil Noble, Bellevue Rotary, running for re-election to the Bellevue City Council; and Frank Young, Bellevue Rotary, running for cover. Suggestions for Jim’s anniversary celebration ran the gamut, but they all agreed that he should go to the airport and pick Marcia up! Also visiting Friday was Endang Paminto from Indonesia. She and Sharon exchanged club banners.

Deasy. the auctioneer & Ted Ederer, the winner.

It was great to see Dick Tschetter in his place after a three-month convalescence from hip surgery!

Don Deasy, purchaser of a place at the table at Sadru Kabani’s home, with Chef Gordy Edberg at the controls, was forced to relinquish his purchase by offering it up for auction Friday. Two spots went for $225 to Ted Ederer and his guest. The original auction was connected to the Golf Outing’s successful morning auction back in late June. Just more money for the BBRC Foundation!
