Cary Kopczynski filled in for the absent President Brian Evison. Cary introduced Tom Purdy to deliver the invocation and the flag salute. Terry Peterson greeted four visiting Rotarians, including Past District Governor Rosemary Aragon, University Rotary (who came to see the opening shot of the 2003 Raffle); Steve Litzow, Mercer Island; Skip Dupar, Seattle #4; and Greg Gourley, Lynnwood.
Tom Smith was Earl Falk’s host at Friday’s meeting. The membership was delighted to see Earl and hope he will return often. A group has set up transportation for Earl when he’s able to make a meeting.
This is Harry Mitchell, Democratic State Senator from Arizona. Maybe he would like to make the move to Bellevue and join the best darn club in the world. |
Several members celebrate August as their birthday and club anniversary month. Getting another notch for a birthday are: Dean Pollock, on the 4th; Tom Helbling, the 8th; Jim Gordon and Polly Stansell, on the 11th; and Milt Smith, the 12th. We have lotsa room for new members who might have birthdays in the last two weeks of August, so get out there and find some! We also need a new member named Harry and one with the last name of Mitchell.
Only three members celebrate August as their club anniversary month. Celebrating 11 years in Rotary is Sharon Edberg. Peter Stadelman has completed his second year, while Tom Purdy celebrates his first year in the BBRC.
Congratulations to all of you newsmakers!
