You CAN’T Call Me Ray –
The Mike Dunham Story

Several years back, a feller by the name of Mike Dunham gave the BBRC a whirl. As you remember, several issues ago, Don Chandler and Don Deasy got into a heated discussion about whether this person was ever a member of the Club. All of this took place at the Rotating the Wheels Dinner. Chandler said there was a member by that name and Deasy took the opposite view. Appeals for information when to the Club Administrator and to Chuck Barnes, keeper of the RI Foundation charts.

Deasy kept using the name “Ray Dunham,” but he finally allowed as how there might have been a guy named “Mike Dunham” who had a classification of insurance. Memory seemed to say that Mike was from Walla Walla, which is true, and he is back there now owning and operating a winery called Dunham Cellars. Anyway, Deasy had bet $1.00 there was no such person, but then conceded he did exist. Last Friday was pay-off time and Deasy called Chandler forward and presented the dollar bill. Lingenspoke came back on the scene and snatched the dollar out of the clutches of Chandler’s fingers and the caper was over.
