CARE & CONCERN Brian’s Mother Passes Away
Brian Evison’s mother passed away just after midnight on Wednesday, July 23, Australian time. Brian reported she died peacefully after a long bout with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband Doug and two sons, Paul and Brian. As Brian reported, “My mum was very strong-willed and suffered her illness in silence, as she did not want others to be concerned. She had never smoked, and it’s puzzling where the disease came from. Her last words to me Tuesday night were, “Go out and enjoy yourself, Brian.” Her death came in Adelaide, the family home. In late May, Brian had gone a week early to the Rotary International Convention in Brisbane to spend time with Mum. When her conditioned worsened, he returned last week to be with her.

Dick and Judy Brown returned from an extended vacation in Kauai, HI,looking fit and tanned. Dick was dressed spiffily, as always, with a fashionable Hawaiian shirt, but no tie. As Deasy reminded his audience, Judy, when playing the Oldywed Game recently, said she could remember only two times when he wasn’t wearing a tie. Deasy pointed out the couple have two children. (Oh, my!)
