James Tucker is Student of the Month

SOTM James Tucker (L) with Greg Stone, Executive Director, Eastside Academy.

For the first time, the BBRC awarded a Student of the Month plaque to a student at the Eastside Academy. Greg Stone, Executive Director at the academy, introduced James Tucker, a young man who’d dropped out of school a year ago. James got a job, but soon realized that if he was to make something of himself, he’d have to go back to school and at least get his HS diploma.

Stone said that James had become a hard worker, was trustworthy and was put in charge of running the school store. He participated with Bellevue Sunrise Rotary on their Christmas in April project and has become a beacon at Eastside Academy.

Stone introduced a group of teachers and other people who are interested in James. Loretta Richards and Linda Oliver, his teachers; his father, Mark Tucker; and Mark LeFleur, James’ counselor. Larry May handled the introductions and awarded the plaque to James. A prolonged round of applause saluted the young man as he becomes a credit to his family and his school.
