Following an introduction from sponsor Brian Evison, Richard “Rich” Hammond became the BBRC’s newest member Friday. Rich spent some years in Portland working for Delta Airlines, prior to moving north to Seattle to join The Boeing Company. His classification is Airline Analyst, and he is involved in Internal Audit activities at Boeing. He’s a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor fraternity and he is a candidate for the CPA certificate, pending the results of the May 2003 exam. Now, he has a whole Rotary Club cheering him on!
Rich is married to Regina and they have two sons, 15-year-old Joel and 10-year-old Zachary. The family lives in Sammamish. Rich founded and organized the Portland Rose Scramble golf charity, sponsored by Delta Airlines. He was the United Way chairperson for Delta employees in Portland, and he volunteered at Blanche House for the homeless. Rich likes to golf, snow and water ski, run, and enjoys other aerobic activities. Brian described Rich as a “sincere guy, not without a good sense of humor.”
At that, Rich received his Rotary pin, a red badge, the book entitled “The ABCs of Rotary,” and a standing ovation from the members of the BBRC. Welcome, Rich!
