Passages …
Grandpa Banks
|
Former BBRC member Tony Banks and his wife, Marcia, became grandparents in November when Lucas Robert Banks joined the family (Lucas tipped the scales at 9 lbs., 3 oz.) and again on January 19 when son Richard’s wife, Vanessa, gave birth to Ava Christine Banks at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. Ava weighed in at 7 lbs., 3 oz. Tony said, “Grandma and Grandpa Banks now have a double reason to come from Leavenworth to visit the Westside.” He promises a visit to the BBRC on the next trip, and we assume the Sergeant At Arms will welcome Tony with a 16 lb., 6 oz. hug!! |

Mary Bell, Sergeant At Arms-to-be in 2003, was greeted with loud applause and a warm welcome in contrast to previous holders of the office. Martinka was away on Friday and will want to take some lessons from Mary on the public relations aspects of the SAA. In John’s absence, Mary quizzed the audience about their participation at a carrot-packing party at Rotary First Harvest. Several members attended. The vast amount of members didn’t – $63 was raised by putting “a dollar on the table.” Mary was off to a fast start.
