Friday Potpourri
Kim Shrader opened Friday’s meeting with the introduction of Ruben Ladlad, who delivered the invocation. Elizabeth Sicktich greeted four visiting Rotarians, including our roving ambassador, Frank Young.
Membership Recruitment Co-Chairperson Rourke O’Brien regaled members to be on the lookout for new members to join the BBRC. “It’s easy to introduce people to our club. Simply invite them to visit and then the wheels will be put in motion to advance to the application process. Remember, Rotary membership is by invitation. Ask them if they’d like to be involved in an active and fun community service organization, how about Rotary?”
If you have questions regarding how to invite someone to breakfast, or details of the recruiting process, contact Rourke.
Earl Falk reminded members that Rotary First Harvest needs your help this coming Saturday, 9:00 to 12:00 noon, at Pier 91 in Seattle.
The Annual Christmas Breakfast is set for Friday, December 20. Sign-ups began last week. This is the program where the kids are especially welcome, because Santa gets out of bed early to pay the BBRC a visit. Gifts for every child, so we need a head count. Sayoko Powell is in charge.
REMINDER: In observance of Christmas and New Years, there will be no regular meeting on December 27. The next meeting of the BBRC will take place in the New Year on January 3, 2003.
