Friday Potpourri
Kim Shrader returns after his trip to Ethiopia, thanking John DeWater and Don Chandler for handling his presidential duties in his absence.
Elizabeth Sicktich gave the invocation followed by the pledge to the Flag.
Maureen Concannon greeted three visiting Rotarians, including former BBRC member Jim Givan, now of the Yakima Sunrise Club. Givan practically scared poor Jim Zidar to death with his outburst, “Gimme a Y,” or was it “I”?
Scott Sadler and members of the Community Service Committee remind members that there are two more opportunities to help hungry families prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. Bring food listed below to the next two meetings, including to this Friday’s Anniversary Dinner. Final pick-up will be Friday, November 22. Immediately following that meeting, the Committee will go out and shop for the 50 families identified as needing our help. If you’d rather not make a donation of food from the list, a check for the amount of a turkey would be great. Make checks out to BBRC.
Here is the list of foodstuffs needed:

- 10 pounds of potatoes
- 2 pounds of carrots
- Pie crust mix for at least two pies
- Pie filling for at least two pies
- 5 pound box of Bisquick
- 1 pound of butter
- l large jar of jam
- 10 cans of veggies or fruit
- 5 pounds of apples
- 5 pounds of oranges
