The Mahoney Toast

Goldfarb, Mahoney
Steve Goldfarb (L) and Wally Mahoney

As the members filed into the dining area, they were encouraged to take a Mimosa (a drink with orange juice and a little champagne). The bubbly came from a magnum delivered to President Goldfarb early last week, a parting gift from Wally Mahoney.

Wally and his wife, Bernadette, will become residents of Laurel, New York, when their trip east ends in a few weeks.

In Wally’s own words:

It looks like we're headed south this Thursday, and will miss the BBRC meeting Friday. We won't have a chance to thank everyone for ten wonderful years at the BBRC, and hope you'll pass along our appreciation and thanks.

We've enjoyed the community spirit, the projects, the work parties, selling raffle tix at QFC (although we could never keep up with Ted Szatrowski), and, above all, the fellowship.

We won't miss the Revelry (Reveille – Wally never could spell it properly) because we'll keep up with it as we drive down to Palm Springs, across to Santa Fe, New Orleans, and Lakeland, FL (grandkids for Valentine's Day), and then up the coast (Keep the ocean on the right!) to Laurel, NY. And please remember, you're all always welcome at the Mahoneys'.

The first big event we'll miss is the Edberg/Moloney Valentine's Day DineAround, but we left you a bottle of bubbly (Jereboam of Domaine Chandon Cuvee 2000) as our contribution to the party.

    Aloha!

    Bernadette and Wallace

After an appropriate toast by President Goldfarb, the BBRC ignored Wally’s wishes and devoured the bubbly at Friday’s meeting, an enthusiastic raising of the glasses caught on digital picture below. This event further enlivened the meeting.
