Support For TreeHouse
|
Alex [l], Kate Ruble [c], and Madeline Gauthier [r].
|
A $1,200 check to help a young man through the TreeHouse organization was delivered Friday morning. Madeline Gauthier, on behalf of
the Youth Services Committee, presented the check to Alex, a native of El Salvador, who has been in the United States for over ten years. Because
Alex is not a citizen, he has been denied access to furthering his education. The $1,200 will allow him to prepare for U.S. citizenship and apply for further schooling. Ultimately, Alex told
the BBRC, he’d like to attend UCLA and study film. Alex has worked at TreeHouse as a volunteer and credited them with being the only organization to give him support over the years. Kate Ruble
represented TreeHouse at Friday’s ceremony.
