 Friday Potpourri

Wayne McCaulley offered the shortest invocation on record and led the pledge to the flag. Lorraine Gunderson greeted two visiting Rotarians and another group of visitors as guests of Rotarians.

With the absence of Sergeant At Arms Rourke O’Brien, stand-in Jay Powers challenged the group’s musical memories by playing five tunes and asking each table to identify them. Two tables got the list right – no damage done, as Powers missed his chance to fine everyone else. The five tunes were: Saturday, Maple Leaf Rag, The Way It Is, Alley Cat, and Something Street. [Sorry, Jay, couldn’t read your writing!] Jay promises another shot soon for “Name Those Tunes!”

Chris Monger, host for our newest exchange student, Pakpoom Saen-jung, better known as “Tar,” gave a spirited pitch for involving Tar in activities scheduled by BBRC families. “If you’ve got something planned during the week or on weekends and would like to invite Tar along, just give us a call. He’s a great young man and is curious to learn as much as he can about his adopted country before his year’s exchange is up.” Call the Mongers at (425) 644-9701 or email Chris.
