Following his abrupt resignation two weeks ago, outgoing President John DeWater conducted the following activities before passing the baton to incoming President Cary Kopczynski
to complete the meeting:
The staff of the Glendale
Country Club was recognized on our one-year anniversary at their facility. A gift of flowers, likely from a noted Bellevue floral business, was presented to staff members for their excellent
service and cooperation provided to the BBRC.
Steve Goldfarb was presented a plaque as the Rotarian of the Month for May. Steve has done a terrific job this past year as Program Committee
Chairman, securing excellent speakers for our weekly meetings. Our thanks to Steve for his efforts.
Donn Roberts
, an old BBRC friend, supporter, and former member, was inducted as a new member following introduction by his cosponsor, Dick Tschetter. Donn’s community involvement includes Overlake
Hospital Business Giving Committee and membership in the American Society of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Engineers. He enjoys golf, fly fishing, skiing, and hunting. Donn is also a
member of the Overlake Golf and Country Club and the Central Park Tennis Club. Donn’s business, located in the Overlake area of Redmond and known to Rotarians as “The Roberts Trane – BBRC House of Raffle
,” has been used for the location for drawing the winner of the BBRC Raffle for a number of years. Welcome back, Don.
As John passed the baton to Cary, he left us with this thought for the day from Adlai Stephenson.
“In America, anyone can become President. That’s one of the risks you take.”
