Friday Potpourri

With President Steve LinginFisherman off idling in the Queen Charlotte Islands, one of the many other Steves, ex-president Steve Goldfarb, presided over the meeting. Mike McIntosh gave the invocation and Nick Paget greeted visiting Rotarians and guests.

Officer Ballard levied a few fines but, more memorably, he transformed Steve Waltar (yet another Steve) into a human antenna for the video link with Steve LinginTechnoNerd, as he was beamed in from the Queen Charlotte Islands.

Tom Smith introduced Marta Campo and her mother, Jacqulee. Marta was the recipient of a BBRC scholarship in her last year in Sammamish High School, and she is now one of the first recipients to receive a follow-on scholarship through the Youth Services Committee. Marta will be entering her second year at the University of Washington and will be pursuing a degree in biology.

Your usual scribe, curmudgeonly John Mix, is successfully recuperating from knee replacement surgery, and according to all accounts, doing well. Having heartily harassed the nursing staff at the hospital, it was strongly suggested to him that he discharge himself, and he is now resting at home with only his wife to harass. Poor Shirley.
