The Friday Program: Jim Gordon, completing his first year as Program Chairman, informed the membership that the scheduled program had to be cancelled because of an emergency befalling our speaker. Always at the ready, Commander Gordon went for consensus, with President Norm Johnson suggesting a program of Table Topics. Instead of someone coming in to give the program, all of the members attending Fridays meeting became the program. The gist of the format was to involve each member at every table in the discussion of the following topic: What recent event in your career, or profession, will have a major impact on society, but has yet to be detected by the mainstream media? A good question, wouldnt you say? The membership was given about five minutes to come up with one person who would pose the question on behalf of his/her table. Each table was numbered and Norms straw hat held the numbers which were drawn to see who would report first. To promote the coming Rotating the Wheels Beach Party, four bums took to the stage to sing, hum, lip synch and generally dance around to a tune called Help You Rotate. With Andrew Face on lead, the floral-patterned quartet sang their hearts out. Helping Andrew harmonize were Chip Erickson, Colly Radford and Norm Johnson. Johnson was the foil in the ditty ... he was the one they were helping to Rotate! And, to end it all, Curt Cummings showed up in his scuba diving gear, having just popped out of Lake Washington to the Mercer Island Beach Club, the location of the annual Rotating the Wheels dinner. 6:00 p.m. on Friday night, June 24, at the Beach Club. Directions and sign-up available here on the BBRC Website. Fellowship Chair Special K Kuwahara says that nearly 100 people have signed up to attend. TO GET YOU INTO THE SPIRIT OF THE EVENT, Thought for the week Ken Blanchard, author of the One-Minute Manager Series, said: None of us is as smart as all of us.
