Aragon Inducted in Impressive Ceremony

Aragon1In what became a main event simply because of the star power in the room, fourth-generation Rotarian Carlos Aragon, was inducted as a member of BBRC. His classification is Market Research, and he is the Director of Analytical Research at Hebert Research.

Carlos is a Seattle native with a UW School of Business degree and is an avid NASCAR devotee. His sponsor, John DeWater, and his mentor, Sharon Edberg, were on hand, as were John Sheeran, the head of Vocational Service, and Wayne McCaulley, head of the New Member Committee, both committees on which Carlos will serve.

Also in attendance were Jennifer Pratt, Carlos' fiance; Jim Hebert, Carlos’ boss; Past District Governor, Rosemary Aragon, Carlos’ mother; District Governor-Elect Kathy Johnson; District Governor Nominee Sally Gray; and Carlos’ aunt, Marianne Barker, of the Blue Lakes-Twin Falls, Rotary Club, where she bears the classification of “Government-Other.” Rosemary’s and Marianne’s father, John M. Barker, was a devoted Rotarian from Buhl, IDAHO, and Past-District Governor of District 5400 in IDAHO. Carlos’ great-grandfather, Hadley Barker, was also a Rotarian, having joined in 1921. Marianne pinned his grandfather’s Rotary pin on Carlos as part of the ceremony.

Induction

Rosemary recalled that it was someone from the Seattle area that passed through Buhl, IDAHO, in 1921 and induced her grandfather, Hadley Barker, to become a Rotarian. Since he wasn’t there to defend himself, the suspicion for this deed naturally fell on JOHN MIX.
