“Why Riding Horses Provides Such a Great Therapeutic Benefit”

Paula J. Del Giudice - Executive Director

Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center has been providing therapeutic horseback riding for those with disabilities for over 46 years on the eastside, impacting thousands of children and adult riders and patients. But why is riding a horse so therapeutic? Paula Del Giudice, executive director of Little Bit, will share her insights and some of Little Bit’s success stories with Bellevue Rotary.

About the Speaker

Paula J. Del Giudice of Sammamish, WA, has been the Executive Director of the Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center for just over five years. She has served as executive director or regional director for three other nonprofit organizations in the Seattle area since 2002. In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors of several religious, arts, and environmental nonprofits starting in her early 20s. In 1999, she was elected by representatives from throughout the country to serve as the first woman volunteer board chair in the National Wildlife Federation’s 63-year history. Paula holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Education degree from Regis University in Denver. She has two grown children, two young grandchildren, a very small dog whose name is Moo, and a large golden retriever puppy named Birdie. In addition to her work with Little Bit, she is President of the Rotary Club of Redmond. In her spare time, she plays an adequate game of golf.
