THIS WEEK

Christmas is This Week! Friday is Christmas Eve Day, therefore the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club will not meet. The same is true for the Next Friday, December 31, which is New Year’s Eve Day. There will be no meeting that morning.

Looking further ahead, the next scheduled meeting of the BBRC is Friday, January 7, 2005 in the Cafeteria of Sammamish High School. We need to provide a headcount to the school for breakfast, so please consult the online sign-up sheet while you’re here visiting the Reveille. DO THE RIGHT THING!

Glendale Country Club closes on January 1 and will re-open on January 13. Our first meeting of the New Year at Glendale will be Friday, January 14, 2005.

Oh, and this is Rotary’s 100th year. Our birthday is Wednesday, February 23, 2005!

ADMIN CORNER

This year-end special will feature a few tidbits you might care about and some things you should know.

First, to praise our trusty cohort Mark Hough, here is our annual offering of: “Four Tricky Letters":

O and U and G and H

Are “O” in Dough and Though.

They Huff and Puff

In Rough and Tough

And “moo” in “OO”

In Through.

They’re “ow” in Bough

And “off” in Cough

With just one exception.

They rhyme with Up

When I hiccough.

They’re masters of deception!

And no matter what the perception

It’s comforting to know

You put it all together and spell

H-O-U-G-H Ho!! Ho!! Ho!!

MarthaStewartTim Allen had this to say about Martha Stewart:

"Boy, I feel safer now that she's behind bars. O.J. & Kobe are walking around; Osama BinLaden, too; but they take the one woman in America willing to cook and clean and work in the yard and haul her butt off to jail."

TWO CASINO DEALERS AND A BLONDE

CrapsTwo bored casino dealers were waiting at the craps table. A very attractive blonde woman arrived and bet $20,000.00 on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." With that she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!"

As the dice came to a stop she jumped up and down and squealed, "YES! YES! I WON, I WON!" She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed.

The dealers starred at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know, I thought you were watching."

THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
Not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.

The Department of Fish & Wildlife
advises American golfers to take extra ...

GrizzlyBear... precautions against bears, while playing on golf courses in Wyoming and Montana National Forests. They advise golfers to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert, but not startle, the bears unexpectedly. They also advise you to carry pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch for signs of bear activity. For example, golfers should be able to recognize the difference between Black Bear and Grizzly Bear droppings on the golf course. Black Bear droppings are smaller, and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly Bear droppings have bells in them, and smell like pepper spray
