The Friday Program: Frank Enfinger, a professor at North Seattle Community College, ran into technical problems while trying to explain the complicated topic of Computer Forensics and Investigations. His computer projector failed at the beginning of his presentation and Lingenprojo jumped to the rescue. Steve is the only guy we know who carries a computer projector on his person. With help from Steve Waltar and Steve Peters, the Three Steves Technical Team (no relation to the Four Sopranos) quickly solved the problem by placing Professor Enfingers projector on eBay. Enfinger is a professor of Forensics. He dryly opened his talk with the statement that Forensics is like watching paint dry. In other words, the TV show CSI is blown a little out of context. READ MORE ROCK BOTTOM BBRC FELLOWSHIP The monthly BBRC social is slated for this afternoon, Thursday, March 17, at 5:00 PM, at the Rock Bottom in downtown Bellevue (Galleria). On tap is a green beverage, hors d'oeuvres, and a generous helping of BBRC Fellowship. The 3rd Thursday of each month is the Designated Fellowship Social Day, guided by President-elect Steve Lingenbrink. Come and enjoy! Although the deadline has passed for registration for the block of rooms set aside at Semi-ah-moo, Sayoko Kuwahara indicated that there are still possibilities for reservations perhaps not at the lower early rates. Also, as in the past, there will be a contingent coming to Birch Bay Saturday morning for participation in the retreat seminars. So far, five members have opted to travel Saturday morning. There is no limitation on how many members could be accommodated on Saturday. Contact Sayoko and shell work out a carload for transportation. Two Dons and a Richard arose to bring praise to members whove supported the Rotary Foundation with years of service. Don Chandler, Don Deasy and Dick Brown conferred recognition on Bob Moloney because his birthday was March 5. Rourke OBrien received his first sapphire pin; Mary Bell, two sapphires; and Colin Radford his Ruby pin, which signifies over $7000 of personal support to TRF. Chandler reported that the Foundation Trustees announced plans to reinstate popular 3-H and GSE programs that had been put on hold because of the effort to funnel funds to the Polio Eradication Campaign. The Trustees also extended PolioPlus until a global certification for polio eradication is reached. They adopted a budget of $39 million to support these programs. This work shows the power of Rotary, said Chandler. And, it shows how important our theme of Every Rotarian, Every Year really is. If each of us determine to contribute $300 annually to the Rotary Foundation, out worldwide goals will be reached. Please make your contribution within the next several weeks and keep these programs alive and well. Deasy chimed in with our goal is to have 100% participation by our membership. Contact any of us for more information.
