Students of the Month
Emily Castle
|
Emily Castle, daughter of Susan and Dr. Tom Castle and a senior at Forest Ridge High School, was honored Friday as one of the January Students of the Month. “She is an outstanding student,” said BBRC presenter Larry May #2. “I wasn’t an exceptionally good student in middle school. In fact, I was disinterested and lazy, unhappy. My parents and I discussed my situation at the end of 7th grade and this ‘regular girl’ transferred to Forest Ridge and became a member of the class of 2002. The Sacred Heart education has served me well, a personal faith in God, deep respect for values, the building of community and personal growth. This has molded me to be the leader I want to be,” Emily said. She intends to enroll at Mount Holyoke School in Massachusetts in the fall.
Jessica Ardern Wilson
|
Jessica Ardern Wilson, a senior at Sammamish High School, was presented by Bob Holert. “Here is a person with great academic credentials, along with her activities as captain of the gymnastics squad and cheerleaders.” Jessica responded that she was “very involved in sports and community service, and believe a career in sports medicine will be my career focus. I love traveling … I’ve been fortunate to travel to England, France, and New Zealand. I’m very interested in how other people live. I especially want to go to Kenya, Africa.” Jessica indicates she is applying at Santa Clara University in California and the University of Washington.
Both students received plaques noting their award.
