District Rotary Foundation Report

TAX PLANNING
Year-end is fast approaching and you and your accountant should be thinking about tax planning. Can you think of a better opportunity to reduce taxable income and show the world how Rotary can CONTINUE TO DO GOOD IN OUR WORLD than a significant contribution to the Rotary Foundation?

What can your contribution to The Rotary Foundation buy?

  • $50 - Cataract Surgery for TWO adults in India.
  • $100 - Textbooks for ONE elementary school in Zambia.
  • $500 - A watch repair business for SIX disabled workers in the Philippines.
  • $1,000 - A tree nursery in Jamaica that will produce 5,000 tree seedlings annually and increase family income for 700 farmers.

How Do We Do This?

  • Paul Harris - A donation of $1,000 makes you or anyone else you designate a Paul Harris Fellow
  • Paul Harris Sustaining Member - A pledge of $100 annually for 10 years makes you a sustaining member.
  • Permanent Fund - The income, not the principal, is spent. The principal is never spent. You can contribute directly to this fund or provide for a future donation through your will or your life insurance. Special recognition is given for a pledge of $1,000 or more.
  • For information on this or other Rotary Foundation ideas please contact Chuck Barnes, RF Chair for the BBRC.
