Jesse Tam, Rotary International District 5030 Governor for 2008-2009, will share a presentation discussing China’s Lunar New Year, which is celebrated not only in China, but also in Korea, Vietnam and around the world. He will include a discussion of its history and traditions as well as explaining the relevance of the 12 Zodiac animals and 5 earth elements to this celebration (for instance, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger and water!).
About the Speaker
Jesse Tam is a retired Bank CEO and is a founder of 3 independent community banks in the Pacific Northwest. He has been active in the Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce, where he was a Board Director and Past President, and is a Past President of the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority.
Jesse is an education advocate and served for 15 years on the Seattle University Albers School of Business Advisory Board and has mentored undergraduate and graduate students in business at Seattle University and the University of Washington for over30 years. He has been involved with Rotary for 35+ years, including holding positions of President of Rotary Club of Seattle International and Rotary District Governor 5030 (2008-2009) as well as writes a blog “Rotary Friendship”.
