Rita Harris / Marni Kurtz - Puppy Raiser / Executive Director
Dogs for Better Lives / Athletes for Kids
Today we will have a program with two organizations being represented.
Rita Harris will discuss Dogs for Better Lives. Dogs for Better Lives is involved with training puppies to become Assistance Dogs - for Hearing assistance, Autism assistance and as facility dogs. Facility Dogs are trained to do specific, skilled tasks and placed with working professionals or volunteers to help support them in their work with vulnerable populations and persons with disabilities (physical, mental, cognitive, sensory, or developmental). (15 minutes via Zoom)
Today Marni Kurtz will update us on Athletes for Kids. Athletes for Kids serves children in 1st-12th grades who have disabilities and special needs of all kinds. They have been a big supporter of BBRC’s All in for Autism event the last few years. (15 minutes in-person)
