Friday Potpourri
Dick Brown, sartorially splendid as ever, subbed for President Kim Shrader, who was attending the District Conference. Nick Paget gave the invocation and Rich Hammond introduced visiting Rotarians and guests. Carlene Buty reported that Dale Hemphill is getting stronge, according to his wife, Hellen, but has requested a leave of absence. Cards and good thoughts are still very welcome.
Steve Lingenbrink(R) reported on his trip to Guatemala, with help from his trusty assistant, Dick Brown. It’s good to know Dick has found work.

Estaban Lingenamigo, fresh from a volunteer stint in Guatemala, presented three different flags from three Rotary Clubs in Guatemala City. Steve must have set an all-time endurance record for visiting three clubs on the same day! Steve reported briefly on his volunteer efforts, which included an extremely strenuous hike into a remote Mayan village where a dental clinic was being set up. Agros found Skip Li and Steve Lingebrink will be the featured speakers at the May 9th meeting to give the BBRC the full account of what was accomplished in Guatemala while they were there.
In a nice segue, Steve, who is also the Club Service I Chairperson, presented information on its doings which include a Programs Subcommittee headed by Cary Kopczynski; a Fellowship Committee headed by Peter Powell; a Publications and Communications Committee headed up by John Mix; and the Public Relations Committee headed up by Craig Groshart.
Rourke O’Brien put in a plug for the Membership Development Committee and reminded everyone to continue to invite guests to our meetings.
Bill Schultheis put in another plug for the annual golf tournament at Mt. Si on July 11. Click here for borchure/registrationform.
