We Get Make-Ups!

(Ed. Note: Dick Clarke gets around the District and makes up a lot. A week ago, he went to Shoreline Breakfast with the intention of making up at their meeting. There was a conflict, and the meeting had been moved, but no one at their regular meeting place knew to where. Here’s the email from Jack Rogers, Shoreline Breakfast President.)

To:  Richard Clarke, Past District Governor, Rotary 5030

My worst fears about having to cancel a meeting have just been realized. I humbly apologize for canceling the meeting and not having someone there to issue make-ups. I thought I could get away with it, but leave it to you to choose that meeting to attend! The regional History Day competitions drove us out of the Shoreline Center, and we decided to not hold a meeting elsewhere since there were few alternatives with space available. I will gladly do penance and allow my body to be scourged with whips and thorns and issue make-ups for anyone who showed up seeking an attendance credit.

    Jack Rogers
    President, Shoreline Breakfast Rotary
