Governor-Elect Visits
 District Governor-Elect John Jacob Gardiner
|
John Jacob Gardiner, former BBRC member, paid a New Year’s visit to his old club. John noted he was a member of the Stillwater, OK (home of Oklahoma State), Rotary Club when he was elected to serve as District Governor in Oklahoma. He didn’t serve because he accepted a position at Seattle U, which precluded him taking the DG post. Now, several years later, he’s getting another shot at being a District Governor, albeit in another District (5030).
John currently is a member of Vashon Island Rotary and fondly remembers his brief tenure as a Bellevue Breakfast Rotarian. His theme for the New Year beginning July 1 is to “grow Rotary,” and he served notice he will ask Rotarians to step up the participation a notch and to also step into leadership within the District. John knows something about leadership, as he serves as Professor of Leadership and Department Chairperson at Seattle University. He currently is on sabbatical, preparing for his term as District Governor.
