Salute to Kindsvater, Hayden, Hough & Stark

The publication of the weekly Reveille has been going on for so long that many of us would say it’s a member of the family. Dating back to the first paper issue on February 6, 1989, the BBRC’s weekly newsletter hasn’t missed a beat. That’s because of the dedicated work of several people. From the outset, Robin Stark has been the layout genius, designing banners and mastheads and putting everything in its place (including the editor and staff – somebody’s gotta do it).

With the advent of pictures in the early 90’s, Larry Gill took black-and-white photos on Friday, processed them in his dark room and had them ready for publication on Monday. The late Frank Stillo printed all of our issues until we went technical in 1997 with the use of fax and in 1998, jumping to the Internet. With the Internet letter came the digital age and our first use of color digital pictures. For the past couple of years, Jim Kindsvater has been our staff photographer. A slow-down in the economy has required a leave of absence for Jim. He’s been replaced, photographically speaking, by Ernie Hayden, who comes equipped with his own new-model Olympus. And, of course, an article on the Reveille can’t be published without mentioning the name of Mark Hough, trusty fill-in editor. Also over the years, Tom Helbling and Craig Groshart have been willing staff members.

So, time marches on and the Reveilles keep coming. Couldn’t be done without the above mentioned staff, and, it couldn’t have even been a gleam in someone’s eye if the BBRC Board of Directors had not provided the capital to make this project go. From one board to the next and with leadership beginning with Jim Owens, every administration has fully supported the needs of the Reveille.

Now, our Club has one of the finest websites in all of Rotary. It is the backbone of our organization, providing the means for all members to communicate readily, efficiently and at all times of the day and night. It’s a Wonderful Life, and we thank you all for the privilege of working for the World’s Greatest Rotary Club!

[Of course, Mix plays a HUGE part in this.]
