SUMMARY:"Making a Difference in a Divided World" via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Gregory Leeson – Author\nHimselfOn May 1\, 2022\, Gregory launched the first of four journeys covering 26\,403 miles to 53 cities in 39 states and eight provinces to interview “ordinary” people about their lives and to learn about their vision for the future. Some historians believe that we are experiencing societal division\, the magnitude of which was last seen in the 1840s and 1850s. If this is true\, what can the individual do? His solution was to learn who people are and to share their stories so others may appreciate just how much we all have in common in a book titled Ordinary People\, Extraordinary Lives. This morning he will discuss his journey! Please note this is a Zoom only meeting. \nAbout the Speaker\nGregory Leeson\, B.A.\, PMP\, originally hailing from Halifax\, Nova Scotia\, has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. Following a brief stint in investment banking in Toronto\, he relocated to the United States\, where he ventured into bond futures trading at The Chicago Board of Trade. Several years later\, having self-taught himself various software engineering languages\, he designed systems for prominent companies\, including Sears Roebuck\, Quaker Oats\, and Abbott Laboratories. His professional journey culminated in his retirement as a senior R&D project manager at Pfizer in 2021. \nA dual American and Canadian citizen\, Gregory currently resides in Illinois. He is the father of an adopted daughter who recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in International Business\, having studied at Carleton University in Ottawa\, Canada\, and the University of Paris in France.
