DESCRIPTION:Sergio Clavigo – Professor\, Faculty of Economics – Universidad de los Andes\, Colombia\nHimself\nProfessor Sergio Clavijo will be addressing the recent macro-performance (growth\, unemployment\, inflation and interest rates) of the USA in comparison with Europe (27-members of the European Union); the main idea being to decipher the probability of a macroeconomic “soft-landing”.  Then he will take a snapshot of the Emerging Markets performance (BRICs and LATAM).  Finally\, he will assess world policy challenges regarding fiscal\, social\, and institutional areas\, with particular focus on the USA-November Presidential Elections.\nAbout the Speaker\nSergio is a citizen of Columbia and will be joining us via Zoom. His brother Martin is a long-term BBRC member.\nSergio has a distinguished career as shown below. He is presently Professor of Economics at Universidad de los Andes\, Colombia.
